What’s the cost? How do I pay? Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept insurance, however, we are very affordable. Broken Places was created to serve all—attempting to make support available to everyone. Sometimes (and given my own personal experience), even the deductibles for insurance are not always affordable.
Pricing varies for each individual. I use a sliding pay scale so it is based on your current income. The goal is to reach anyone who needs support, and I have hope that one day I will be able to obtain an assistance program for those that sincerely need it.
Payment for sessions should be made prior to each scheduled appointment. You can pay online with a debit or credit card on this website, or you may pay cash when you come in.
For those that do not want to use the sliding pay scale, the base rate is $100 individual, $125 couple, or $150 family per session.
You have the option of paying per session, paying for multiple sessions upfront or even purchasing a package that has a set amount of sessions and is topic-focused.
What are your sessions like? How many? How long?
Sessions are generally 45-60 minutes long. However, the initial intake session can be up to 90 minutes as we review paperwork and discuss you, your goals and what you wish to accomplish throughout your session times. After the first session we will have a tentative plan in place which establishes a general timeline for each individual, couple or family’s specific needs.
This treatment plan will show approximately how many sessions are needed for success. For most clients, we meet on a weekly basis until close to completion and then decrease sessions to every two weeks and then move to monthly sessions for a short time. There are other circumstances when a client wants to come in every other week, and another might want to come twice a week—both are manageable.
Another approach is to purchase a package. Currently I offer only four types of packages, but they can be customized to your particular needs. Packages offer full coverage of a set topic, and you will know the timeframe upfront.
Besides my efforts of making sessions affordable to everyone, I also focus on giving you the proper healing and support in as few sessions as possible. My goal is to work myself out of a job as quickly as possible while ensuring that you have the tools you will need to thrive on your own.
Do I have to physically come to your office for appointments?
No. It is your preference. Some prefer the more personal feel of in-office sessions, others prefer online. If possible, I do encourage clients to come in for the initial intake session. It helps with finalizing paperwork and getting to know each other beforehand.
Do you offer video, voice or messaging sessions? Are your online services secure?
Yes. For video sessions, I use a secure software program that is HIPAA-compliant. It is a telehealth program that offers great security.
However, I cannot assure or confirm the security of your personal information with phone calls, email or text messages. If you prefer our sessions to be in one of the above three methods I will need you to sign an agreement that you understand our communication method may not be secure.
Do you prescribe medications?
No. You will need to contact a psychiatrist to get any prescribed medications for mental health diagnosis’.
What is your cancellation and no-show policy?
You will need to give a 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This ensures that you are not charged for your scheduled time. If you made payment prior to your appointment the balance will go toward your next scheduled appointment.
If you fail to show up to your appointment or fail to give the proper notice, you will still be required to pay the full fee for the session you missed.
What is your late policy?
Regardless of appointment method (in-person, video, phone, email, text) I will wait 15 minutes. If it’s a telehealth or phone session I will attempt contact three times until the 15 minute mark. For example, if your appointment is scheduled at 3PM I will contact you at 3:00, 3:07, and then again at 3:15. After this you are considered a no-show.
If you arrive late you will forfeit the time lost. For instance, if your appointment is from 3:00-3:45 and you arrive at 3:10 your session will still end at 3:45.
I see you are a spiritual person, do I have to share your beliefs?
No, not at all. I do believe in God and I am a spiritual person, but I am not religious—there is a difference. You have the freedom to come in as you are and never feel judged. I will never push my beliefs onto you.
Why are you a coach? What is a mental health coach? What made you want to do this line of work?
I have experienced hardships in my life. After years of learning to overcome and heal from them I developed a passion to help others through their own struggles. Thus began my journey.
What is a mental health coach? Mental health coaching is a strengths-based support for those living with serious mental illnesses. Coaches help clients develop a healthy balance in life, give guidance in decision making, offer support in navigating mental health difficulties, and assistance in establishing a recovery plan. Coaches help clients find ways to obtain and maintain stability, manage difficult symptoms, rebuild relationships, and find a purpose for living.
In addition to my college education, I am also a certified Mental Health Coach First Responder.

How can I know more about you?
I have open communication with my clients. I focus on my clients and their needs first, but at times I share personal experiences when I feel it can benefit them. With that being said, my clients are always free to ask questions about my life and where I have been. I realize that it is sometimes necessary and comforting to know that who you are confiding in has been through some of the same things and has an understanding of your current situation and/or circumstance.
